If you're looking for a good spot to ride your bike this weekend, the City continues to designate areas exclusively for cyclists and pedestrians as part of its ActiveTO program. Get outdoors and exercise safely! Parts of the City to explore this weekend include:
Roads within Exhibition Place
Lake Shore Boulevard East (eastbound lanes), between Leslie Street to Woodbine Avenue
Bayview Avenue, between Front Street East and Rosedale Valley Road, and River Street, between Bayview Avenue and Spruce Street
The Meadoway in Scarborough (Brimley Road to Scarborough Golf Club Road)
Roads within High Park
ActiveTO locations will be specially designated from Saturday, July 10 at 6:00AM until Sunday, July 11 at 9:00PM.
If you don't have a bike to ride, Bike Share Toronto and CAA are working together so that Torontonians will have access to free rides every Wednesday in July. Riders can borrow a bike for as many trips as they want in each 24 hour period. Free trips are limited to 30 minutes each and must docked at Bike Share stations between trips.
You can find out more, including how to get a bike, here. North York locations are available around G Ross Lord Park and in the Finch Hydro Corridor on the west side of Bathurst St.
