City's Winter Programming

The skating rink at Mel Lastman Square opens for the season tomorrow (November 27). An additional 50 City operated outdoor rinks will open this weekend or over the next week. Rinks are open from 9AM to 10PM daily. No bookings are required this year, but changerooms will remain at 50% capacity. More information is available at http://www.toronto.ca/skate.

As the weather allows, other winter activities will be offered. The ski hills at Earl Bales park are scheduled to open on January 1, 2022. Snow loops for walking and snowshoeing will be offered at the City's four golf course locations, including the Don Valley Golf Course (4200 Yonge). Permits will also be available to use the City’s outdoor bake ovens, including the one available at our Edithvale Park (131 Finch Avenue West).

John’s team also continues to coordinate with community volunteers who are interested in flooding natural skating rinks in City Parks this winter. We are currently working with groups at Edithvale, Parkview and Glendora Parks, though applications are accepted by the City until December 31. Details on natural rinks are available here.
