Recent Coyote Activity

It was disturbing to learn that a coyote was shot down in the schoolyard of Hollywood Public School this week, following an incident where two individuals were bitten in Bayview Village Park. Toronto Animal Services were on alert following the initial incident.

Coyotes generally do not pose a danger to people and a bite to a human is abnormal behaviour. If you are startled by the appearance of a coyote, it’s advised not to run, but rather make noise to scare it away.

If you are concerned, you can report coyote sightings by calling 416-338-PAWS (7297), emailing animalservices@toronto.ca or via this online form.
