On November 11, we commemorate those who paid the ultimate sacrifice serving with Canada's Armed Forces and honour the many others who served. This year 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the poppy, giving this year's Remembrance Day special significance.
Unfortunately, due to ongoing Public Health guidelines, the Willowdale community will again be unable to come together in person, as we did for many years. But the City will be honouring our veterans with several events, including by publishing stories and videos at Toronto Remembers. Details of these events will be published online next week.
The public is encouraged to observe Remembrance Day virtually, at home or at work. A livestream of the November 11 ceremony at Old City Hall can be found on the City'sYouTube channel or on local television stations.
