Stafford Park Safety Audit

On November 6, several local residents braved the rain to join my staff, City Parks staff and constable Wayne Pierce from 32 Division for a safety audit in Stafford Park. At my neighbourhood BBQ in August, residents expressed safety concerns related to late night activities in the park. The subsequent Safety Audit identified such solutions as improved  lighting and a reduction in places where undesirable activities can go unseen..

Constable Pierce spoke about the role that all members of the community can play if they see activity in the park that is causing concern.  He encouraged residents to call 32 Division at (416) 808-3200 to log a non-emergency concern. Although a cruiser may not be available to immediately visit the park, a pattern of concerns will be logged and police will act on them through more frequent patrols. The same is true for any parks.
