As we know, Toronto has a history of welcoming people from around the world who want to make this their home – perhaps more so than any city in the world. So I’m so glad that our city is honouring this tradition with an annual Newcomer Day, which takes place this year on May 25.
First proclaimed in 2015, Toronto Newcomer Day offers a range of programs to celebrate newcomers’ contributions to our city and help provide access to a range of services.
This year’s event will be celebrated online and feature a number of activities including cultural performances, a virtual tour of City Hall, and an information fair. For more information, and to participate, visit toronto.ca/newcomerday.
