The TTC will be installing new PRESTO gates at Sheppard Yonge Station. Like many of you, John was concerned with the full closure of two entrances until mid-March for construction. John has worked with the TTC to revise the construction phases and we will no longer see full closures of TTC entrances during construction. The TTC will have Customer Service Representatives on site during all phases of construction at entrances to assist with directions.
Sheppard West and Harlandale Automatic Entrances
Sheppard West automatic entrance was scheduled to reopen this morning (December 14) at 6 AM
Harlandale automatic entrance will be closed until 6 AM December 17 for demolition.
Hullmark Entrance: two phases of construction
Phase one: customers will enter and exit the station via the collector booth aisle
Phase two: the collector booth will be closed to sales and entry and customers will enter the station via a temporary crash gate collector.
A PRESTO reader will be available during both phases of construction.
The entrance will need to close for a short period in the middle of February 2018 prior to fare gate construction in March. We will update you closer to the date of construction. This entrance will be only accessible by PRESTO card when construction ends.
More information can also be found on the TTC’s website.
With the roll out of PRESTO throughout the TTC network, the TTC is phasing out collectors and collector booths as part of their modernization plan. While customers may still enter with legacy media (tickets, tokens, and passes), the TTC will be phasing out legacy media later on in 2018.
