Victoria Day Fireworks Update

The City is allowing the use of fireworks this weekend but with restrictions based on the provincial stay at home order.

Under the rules, residents can only set off fireworks with members of their households on their own private property. Setting off fireworks in a City park, street, or parking lot remains illegal.

On Victoria Day and Canada Day, you don’t need a permit to set off fireworks, but you will need a permit for any other day.

After discharging your fireworks, it is important to safely dispose of them. Used or unused fireworks should be completely submerged in water and soaked overnight, then be put in a plastic bag and disposed of in regular household garbage.
