With the recent warm weather this week, and increasing temperatures as we head into spring, Willowdale’s four natural ice rinks are now closed for the season.
This year was one of the best seasons for the rinks, as skaters were able to enjoy the natural ice for 10 weeks, which was a great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors, even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I want to thank the dozens of volunteers who worked to maintain these rinks. They only happen with hard work from people in our communities.
If you are still looking to go for a skate, the rink at Mel Lastman Square will be open until March 21st, weather permitting. For information on the rink status at Mel Lastman Square, and outdoor rinks across the city, click here.
